Moderation commands
The moderation commands are what your moderators use day to day: Discord punishments and the case history behind them, gang strikes, role management, staff time records and the status blacklist. FiveM bans and kicks are separate; they live on FiveM commands.
Where: In Discord ยท Who may run them: Dashboard โ Server setup โ Permissions
#Who can use these commands
The server owner and anyone holding Discord's Administrator permission can run every command on this page. Everyone else needs a permission group.
Open Dashboard โ Server setup โ Permissions (or /setup โ Permissions), create a group, add the roles that belong in it, and tick the commands it may use. Ticking a command grants all of its subcommands as well.
Press Load defaults once and FiveUnity creates an eight-step ladder, each step including everything below it. Three of the steps cover this page:
| Group | What it adds on this page |
|---|---|
| Moderator | /warn, /timeout, /untimeout, /kick, /purge, /modlogs, /ban-evidence, /list-strikes, /ratings, /dutylog, /ticket delete (via the delete-ticket node) |
| Senior Moderator | Everything above, plus /ban, /massban, /massunban, /role, /temprole (except tiers), /stickyrole, /blacklist, /strike-gang, /clock log and /ticket-reset |
| Admin | Everything above, plus /gang-admin and /temprole tiers |
So once you have loaded the defaults and put your moderator role on the Moderator step, everything in that first row works for them; move the role up a step when you are ready to let them ban.
Each command's own line below names the lowest step that grants it.
Some commands also carry a Discord permission, listed per command. Discord uses it to decide whether the command even appears in that member's command menu; FiveUnity's group check still runs afterwards. See Permissions for the full picture, and How commands work for turning commands off, restricting them to channels and adding cooldowns.
In the tables below, a row such as add word means the word option of the add subcommand.
#Members and punishments
/ban, /kick, /timeout, /untimeout and /warn all refuse a target whose
highest role sits at or above your own, the server owner, and yourself: the
same rule Discord applies to its own ban and kick buttons, so routing an action
through FiveUnity cannot be used to get around it. The bot must sit above the
target as well.
#/ban
Bans a member, DMs them the reason first, and opens a numbered case. It also bans an account that is not here yet, and can carry the ban to every Discord linked to this server.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | No | The user to ban. |
userid | No | A Discord user ID to ban instead, even if the account has never joined. |
reason | No | The reason for the ban. Defaults to "No reason provided." |
cross | No | Yes also bans them from every side Discord linked to this server. Defaults to no. |
Give either user or userid. If you give both they must be the same account,
otherwise the command stops rather than guessing which one you meant.
Who can use it by default: the Senior Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Ban Members.
/ban user:@Troublemaker reason:Advertising in DMs
#Ban an ID before they join
userid takes a raw Discord user ID, so somebody who was banned on another
platform, named in an intelligence share, or spotted on an alt can be dealt
with before they ever open your invite. Discord enforces the ban at the door:
the account is turned away the moment it tries to join.
Turn on Settings โ Advanced โ Developer Mode in Discord to copy an ID. The reply says which account it belongs to when FiveUnity can look it up, and bans the ID either way when it cannot. There is no DM, because there is no shared server to send one through.
/ban userid:123456789012345678 reason:Known cheater, banned on partner server
#Ban across your linked Discords
cross:Yes bans the same account in every side Discord attached to this server.
It needs the PRO plan and at least one linked server.
Run it on the main server. A side Discord cannot ban across the network, because that would let one department's moderators decide who is allowed in everybody else's Discord; FiveUnity refuses and points you at the main server.
The reply lists every linked Discord and what happened there, including the ones it could not act on: the bot is no longer in that server, it is missing Ban Members there, the account owns that Discord, or the account sits at or above the bot's highest role there. One refusal never stops the others. Each ban that lands opens its own numbered case in that Discord, credited to you, and the side server's Discord audit log names you and this server as the origin.
Someone already banned here is not re-banned or re-cased, but cross:Yes still
pushes their ban out to the network, which is how you bring a Discord you
linked recently in line with bans you placed months ago.
Lift a network ban with /massunban ... cross:Yes.
/ban user:@Troublemaker reason:Advertising in DMs cross:Yes
/ban userid:123456789012345678 reason:Ban evasion cross:Yes
#/kick
Kicks a member, DMs them the reason first, and opens a numbered case.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | Yes | The user to kick. |
reason | No | The reason for the kick. |
Who can use it by default: the Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Kick Members.
/kick user:@Newcomer reason:Ignoring staff instructions
#/timeout
Times a member out so they cannot talk or join voice, DMs them, and opens a case.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | Yes | The member to time out. |
duration | Yes | How long, for example 10m, 2h, 7d. Discord caps a timeout at 28 days. |
reason | No | Why they are being timed out. |
Who can use it by default: the Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Moderate Members.
/timeout user:@Member duration:2h reason:Spamming general
#/untimeout
Lifts a timeout early and records it as a case.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | Yes | The member to release. |
reason | No | Why the timeout is being lifted. |
Who can use it by default: the Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Moderate Members.
/untimeout user:@Member reason:Appealed and apologised
#/warn
Warns a member. FiveUnity DMs them the reason and opens a numbered case.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | Yes | The user to warn. |
reason | Yes | The reason for the warning. |
A member who has already left is still recorded: the case is opened against their user ID and the reply says no warning DM was sent.
Who can use it by default: the Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Moderate Members.
/warn user:@Member reason:Third reminder about voice chat rules
#/purge
Bulk deletes recent messages in the channel you run it in.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
amount | Yes | Number of messages to delete, 1 to 100. |
Who can use it by default: the Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Manage Messages.
Discord will not bulk delete messages older than 14 days, so those are skipped and the reply tells you how many were actually removed.
/purge amount:50
#/massban
Bans a whole list of Discord user IDs in one go, including accounts that have never joined. This is the pre-ban tool: paste an intelligence share, a list of alts, or a ban list from a partner community, and every account on it is turned away at the door.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user_ids | Yes | Discord user IDs separated by spaces, commas or new lines. Pasted mentions work too. |
reason | No | The reason recorded against every ban in the list. |
cross | No | Yes also bans them in every side Discord linked to this server. Defaults to no. |
Who can use it by default: the Senior Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Ban Members.
Up to 100 IDs per run. Anything past that is reported back, not silently dropped, so you can paste the rest and run it again. Duplicates are collapsed and anything that is not an ID is listed in the reply rather than sent to Discord.
Every ID is checked before it is used: you cannot ban yourself, the server owner, the bot, or anyone whose highest role sits at or above your own. Those are named in the reply and the rest of the list still runs. Each ban that lands opens its own numbered case crediting you.
Nobody is DMed. A single /ban warns the member first; a list of a hundred
accounts, most of which have never been here, is not a conversation.
The reply is a report: how many landed, one line per server, and a Not
banned list with the reason for each. Lift the whole thing again with
/massunban.
/massban user_ids:123456789012345678 234567890123456789 reason:Ban evasion ring
/massban user_ids:123456789012345678 cross:Yes
The same tool is on the website under Safety โ Moderation โ Mass ban, for pasting a long list somewhere with more room than a slash command. It is Administrator-only there. See Moderation.
#/massunban
Unbans several people at once from a list of Discord user IDs.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user_ids | Yes | Discord user IDs separated by spaces, commas or new lines. Pasted mentions work too. |
cross | No | Yes also lifts the ban on every side Discord linked to this server. Defaults to no. |
Who can use it by default: the Senior Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท No Discord permission is set, so FiveUnity's permission check does the gating.
It reads a list the same way /massban does: up to 100 IDs a run, duplicates
collapsed, anything that is not an ID listed back under Not run instead of
being sent to Discord.
An ID that was not banned is not a failure. The report counts it separately and says so, because on a list pulled from a spreadsheet most IDs usually were not banned in the first place. Only a real refusal from Discord is reported as failed.
cross:Yes is how a ban placed with /ban ... cross:Yes or /massban ... cross:Yes
is lifted again. It follows the same rules: PRO, run it on the main server,
and the reply gives one line per server. An ID that was never banned here is
still cleared from the network, so a ban that only ever landed on a side
Discord can be undone from one place.
/massunban user_ids:123456789012345678 234567890123456789
/massunban user_ids:123456789012345678 cross:Yes

#/ban-evidence
Opens a form for the reason and the evidence links behind a ban, and files it against that user.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | Yes | The user who was banned. |
The form asks for two things, both required: the reason for the ban, and evidence (links to video or screenshots).
Who can use it by default: the Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท No Discord permission is set, so FiveUnity's permission check does the gating.
/ban-evidence user:@Troublemaker
See Moderation for where cases and ban evidence are stored and reviewed.

FiveUnity's own role must sit above the role being given.

tiers remove | n/a | Subcommand: forget a tier. |
tiers remove name | Yes | The tier to forget, chosen from autocomplete. |
tiers list | n/a | Subcommand: show the membership tiers this server has. |
#Memberships
A membership is a named tier you set up once so staff can hand out "VIP for
30 days" without having to look up a role. Set the tiers up first with
/temprole tiers add: a server can have up to 25, each one a name and a role,
and one role cannot be two tiers.
Underneath, a membership is an ordinary temporary role, so it comes off on its
own when the days run out and it appears in /temprole list and on the
dashboard's temporary-role list alongside everything else. Giving a member a
tier they already hold moves the expiry to the new date rather than stacking a
second membership on top.
/temprole tiers remove only forgets the name: memberships already granted
from that tier keep their expiry and still come off on time.
membership status also lists a tier whose role the member is holding with
nothing scheduled to remove it, so a membership handed out by hand shows up
rather than sitting there permanently unnoticed.
Who can use it by default: the Senior Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท Discord permission: Manage Roles. The tiers subcommands are Admin and above: handing a membership out is everyday staff work, but deciding which roles are sold as memberships is not. Every grant is checked the same way: FiveUnity must sit above the role, and the role must be below your own highest one.
/temprole add user:@Member role:@Event Access duration:3d reason:Weekend event
/temprole tiers add name:VIP role:@VIP
/temprole membership give user:@Member tier:VIP days:30 reason:Tebex order 4821

| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
add | n/a | Subcommand: makes a role sticky. |
add role | Yes | The role to make sticky. |
remove | n/a | Subcommand: removes a role from the sticky list. |
remove role | Yes | The role to remove from the sticky list. |
list | n/a | Subcommand: lists all current sticky roles. |
Who can use it by default: the Senior Moderator group and above, plus the server owner and Discord Administrators ยท No Discord permission is set, so FiveUnity's permission check does the gating.
/stickyrole add role:@Quarantined
#/queenverify
Verifies a member and gives them the one role you chose on the dashboard, posts a message in the channel saying so, then writes who verified who to a log channel of your choosing. Unlike /verification, which posts a button members press themselves, this one is run by a staff member on somebody else.
| Option | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
user | Yes | The member to verify. |
Who can use it by default: nobody until you configure it. Open Dashboard โ Safety โ Moderation โ Queen verification, turn it on, pick the role it hands out and pick the roles allowed to run it. Those roles, the server owner, Discord Administrators and any permission group holding queenverify (the Management step and above by default) can then use it. No Discord permission is set, so it stays visible to the roles you pick even when they hold nothing else.
The role it hands out has to be one FiveUnity may grant on its own: not managed by an integration, below the bot in the role list, and never one carrying Administrator. The dashboard refuses one and the command refuses it again at grant time.
/queenverify user:@Member

#Status blacklist
