FAQ
Short answers to the questions we are asked most. If yours is not here, open a ticket in the FiveUnity Discord or email support@fiveunity.com; we reply within 24 hours.
#Account and access
#How do I sign in to the dashboard?
Go to fiveunity.com and press Continue with Discord. Discord asks to share your account and your list of servers; approve it and you land on the Dashboard. There is no separate FiveUnity account or password. Sessions last 24 hours, after which you sign in again.
#Who can change settings for a server?
Anyone with Administrator or Manage Server on that Discord server. Either one is enough. Your Discord permissions are the whole access model; there is no shared admin login to hand out.
Permissions are re-checked against Discord on every request, not once at sign-in, so removing someone's Manage Server role locks them out of the dashboard on their next click.
Two actions are deliberately stricter and need full Administrator: wiping a server before restoring a backup, and resetting a server. One is deliberately looser: you can let Discord roles edit your documentation site, page by page, without giving them Manage Server. See Documentation.
#How do permissions work for commands?
There are two layers. Discord's own command permissions come first, then FiveUnity's permission groups, which map roles to the commands they may use. The server owner and Administrators always have full access. Set them up under Dashboard โ Server setup โ Permissions, or /setup โ Permissions. See Permissions.
#Does the bot need Administrator?
It is strongly recommended, and the invite asks for it. FiveUnity creates categories and channels for tickets, builds and edits roles, sets channel overwrites so only the right staff see a ticket, times members out, bans and unbans, manages webhooks for logging, and moves people between voice channels.
You can grant a reduced set instead, but any feature whose permission is missing will fail, usually with a Discord "Missing Permissions" error. Whatever you grant, Discord's role hierarchy still applies: FiveUnity can only manage roles below its own.
#Billing
#How does billing work?
FiveUnity is priced per Discord server. Open Dashboard โ Account โ Billing, choose Premium or Pro, and pay through Stripe Checkout: FiveUnity never sees your card details. Your plan activates a few seconds after Stripe confirms the payment.
Licence codes work too: /redeem code:<code> in Discord applies instantly. See Plans and billing.
#Is there a free tier or a free trial?
No. There are two plans, Premium and Pro, and a server needs one of them. Without an active subscription the bot refuses commands, and buttons and menus on existing panels refuse the same way.
Your settings are never deleted when a plan lapses. The dashboard also stays open for reading and editing settings, deleting things, re-syncing slash commands and Billing itself, so you can always renew and tidy up.
#What does Pro add?
Only the AI Assistant features: ticket summaries, the in-ticket AI first responder, and AI key phrases. Everything else (tickets, queues, applications, departments, gangs, the FiveM bridge, Tebex, backups, moderation, protection) is in Premium. Pro support requests are also answered first.
#Do linked side servers need their own subscription?
No. Link a side Discord to your main server under Dashboard โ Members โ Linked servers and it inherits the main server's plan, Pro included. You pay for the main server only. A side server can be linked to one main server at a time. See Linked servers.
#How fast do you respond to support?
Sheisty Development aims to reply to support requests within 24 hours. Open a ticket in the FiveUnity Discord, or email support@fiveunity.com. Pro servers are answered first; that is how the team works through the list, not a queue inside the bot.
#Setup and settings
#Does the website replace /setup?
It covers the same ground, and both write to the same place: a change made in Discord shows up on the website and vice versa. Use whichever you prefer.
The one exception is secrets. The Tebex secret key, the FiveM bridge keys, the txAdmin password and the Gemini key can be set from the dashboard but never read back. See Discord /setup and the website.
#How do I hide the setup commands once I am configured?
Switch Hide setup-only commands on under Dashboard โ Server setup โ Slash commands โ Visibility & deploy; it is a website-only setting. Setup-only commands are dropped from the command list the next time commands are re-synced, so press Re-sync slash commands on that page, or run /refresh.
#How do I reset everything?
/factory-reset in Discord, which only the server owner can run, or Dashboard โ Core โ Danger zone, open to the owner or any Administrator. Both ask you to confirm first, and both are irreversible. Either can optionally delete the channels and categories FiveUnity created as well.
#Where do members find our documentation?
/docs posts a link to your server's documentation space, and /docs search:<keyword> finds a page by keyword. Anyone can run it; the results only ever include pages that member is allowed to read. See Documentation.
#Tickets and support
#Where are ticket transcripts stored, and how are they delivered?
When a ticket closes, FiveUnity saves a transcript of the conversation and posts a View Online Transcript button to your ticket log channel. If DM transcripts is on under Dashboard โ Support desk โ Tickets, the member who opened the ticket is sent the same link.
The link is signed and stops working after 30 days, so save anything you need to keep. See Tickets.
#Does Tebex deliver purchases automatically?
No, and that is deliberate. When a payment completes FiveUnity records the order and posts it to your purchases log with a โ Mark as Processed button. A staff member with Manage Server reviews it, delivers the goods, and clicks the button. No roles are granted and no in-game items are handed over automatically. See Tebex store.
#How do I link a purchase to a Discord account?
Add a required package variable with the identifier discord_id to your Tebex packages. The buyer enters their Discord id at checkout and FiveUnity attributes the purchase to them, pinging them in the log. Without it, only the store username is shown.
#FiveM
#Which FiveM frameworks are supported?
Qbox, QBCore and ESX are detected automatically by the bridge resource. Standalone servers still work for status and player counts, but economy and medical features (items, money, heal, revive) need one of the supported frameworks.
#Do I need RCON?
No. In-game actions travel over the bridge resource, which authenticates with a key you set yourself, and server management such as kicks and persistent bans goes through txAdmin. Nothing in FiveUnity uses RCON.
#Why does a FiveM command say the resource needs updating?
Because the endpoint that command needs is not present in the copy of the bridge resource running on your server, usually an older build, or one that was edited. Reinstall the current bridge resource and restart it. See Install the bridge resource.
#Data
#What happens to our data if the bot is removed?
Nothing is deleted immediately. The server's data is marked and enters a 3-day grace period. Re-invite FiveUnity within those three days and everything comes back exactly as it was. After three days a daily clean-up permanently deletes it, and that cannot be undone.
A Discord outage does not start the clock; only an actual removal does.
#Can staff read the keys we saved?
No. Every integration secret is write-only: the dashboard shows whether one is set, never the value. They are encrypted at rest and tied to the server they belong to. Keep your own copy of anything you might need again.
