FiveUnityManual

First-time setup

A recommended order for configuring a brand-new server: activate a plan, let /setup build the basics in Discord, then finish everything off in the dashboard. Allow about half an hour.

Note

Where: Dashboard โ†’ your server ยท In Discord: /setup

#Before you start

  • FiveUnity is in your Discord server and you can open it in the dashboard. See Invite the bot and sign in.
  • Drag the FiveUnity role near the top of Server Settings โ†’ Roles. It can only manage roles below its own.

#1. Activate a plan

Nothing else works until the server has an active subscription. Every command, button and drop-down is refused until then.

  • With a card: Dashboard โ†’ Account โ†’ Billing โ†’ Subscribe to premium or Subscribe to pro.
  • With a code: run /redeem code:<your code> in Discord. It applies instantly.

Check it worked with /subscription, or look at the Current subscription panel on the Billing page. Full details in Plans and billing.

#2. Run /setup in Discord

Run /setup in any channel. The reply is only visible to you. You need Administrator to run it.

You get the Five Unity Setup Assistant panel with four buttons:

ButtonWhat it does
Configuration DashboardOpens the ten module panels: Core, Tickets, FiveM, Departments, Community, Moderation, Queue, Utility, Linked Servers, AI Assistant.
Tebex Connect InfoShows the webhook URL to paste into Tebex โ†’ Settings โ†’ Webhooks.
Manage PermissionsLoad the eight-step default ladder, or create your own groups and decide which roles may run which commands.
CloseCloses the panel.

Two of the buttons behind these do most of the first-run work for you.

#Build the ticket system in one click

Go to Configuration Dashboard โ†’ Tickets โ†’ Run Default Setup.

Warning

It starts immediately (there is no confirmation step) and it creates sixteen channels and categories on a fresh server. It only runs on a server with no ticket panels yet; otherwise you get "Ticket System is already configured. Use the Dashboard to manage settings."

It creates:

  • A hidden category FiveUnity System containing #staff-logs and #review-logs, and sets them as your staff log and review log.
  • A #ticket-panel channel.
  • Six ticket categories: ๐Ÿ’ก Support Tickets, ๐Ÿ˜ก Report Staff Tickets, ๐Ÿ’ฐ Tebex Tickets, ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Gang Tickets, ๐ŸŽ‰ Events Tickets and ๐Ÿ’ฅ Ban Appeal Tickets. Because dual categories are on by default, each also gets a matching โฐ Staff Reply category. A ticket moves there when the member writes and moves back when a staff member answers, so your team can see at a glance what is waiting on them.
  • A dropdown panel called Default Ticket Panel, posted into #ticket-panel with the title "Support Tickets" and a Select a Ticket Type dropdown listing all six types.
  • One queue per ticket type (Support Ticket Queue, Gang Ticket Queue, and so on), with member DMs switched on.
Warning

The new ticket categories are created with no permission overwrites, so everyone can see them. Set who can view each category in Discord, or use the per-panel support role on the Tickets page, before you point members at the panel.

#Load the default permission ladder

Go to Manage Permissions โ†’ Load Defaults. It creates eight groups, each including everything below it, so you only have to decide which step a role belongs on:

GroupWhat it adds
SupportThe ticket desk: claim, rename, escalate and transcribe tickets, log sits, clock on duty.
ModeratorEveryday moderation: warnings, timeouts, kicks, purges, case history, application review.
Senior ModeratorDiscord bans and role control: temporary and sticky roles, the blacklist, gang strikes and ticket resets.
AdminRuns the modules: embeds, giveaways, keywords, self roles, stats channels, verification, applications, queues, gangs and departments.
Senior AdminIntegrations and money: Tebex, linked Discords, role bindings and read-only backups.
Head AdminFull configuration: /setup, /refresh, restoring and deleting backups.
ManagementEverything except the irreversible server reset, including all FiveM permissions. New non-FiveM commands land here automatically.
OwnerEverything, including /factory-reset.

The groups start with no roles attached, so nothing changes until you assign them. Do that on the dashboard; that screen is much easier to work with than the Discord panel. FiveM permissions are grouped separately and start at Management by default. See Permissions.

#3. Finish in the dashboard

Open fiveunity.com/dashboard and pick your server. Work down the sidebar in this order; anything /setup already wrote is shown as the current value, so you are refining, not starting over.

  1. Server setup โ†’ Core. Logging channels, the welcome message and welcome DM, auto-roles on join, booster rewards, role bindings and verification. See Core settings.
  2. Server setup โ†’ Permissions. Put each staff role on the step of the ladder it belongs to, then adjust individual grants if the defaults are not quite right. Do this before you open the doors; it decides who can run what. See Permissions.
  3. Support desk โ†’ Tickets. Set the open and closed categories, the rating channel and DM transcripts, then edit the default panel or build your own with its own embed, category and support role. See Tickets.
  4. Support desk โ†’ Queues. Confirm the queue rows the setup created, and set the staff mention role. See Queues.
  5. Roleplay โ†’ FiveM. Enable the bridge, set your server IP, generate the bridge keys and install the resource on your FiveM server. See FiveM and Install the bridge resource.
  6. Everything else, as you need it. Applications, Community, Moderation, Protection, Roles, Departments, Gangs, Modules, Embeds, Custom commands, Tebex, Backups and your own Documentation space. The Dashboard tour maps every section.
Tip

Take a backup once the server looks right: Dashboard โ†’ Server setup โ†’ Backups. It snapshots your roles and channels so you can restore them later. See Backups.

#4. Tidy the command menu

A handful of commands are only useful while you are setting up. Once you are done, go to Dashboard โ†’ Server setup โ†’ Slash commands โ†’ Visibility & deploy and switch Hide setup-only commands to Hidden, then press Re-sync slash commands.

That removes /blacklist, /application, /delete-strike, /feedback-admin and /refresh from the command menu. They come back the moment you turn it off and re-sync. Discord can take a minute to show the change, and /setup itself is never hidden.

The same page lets you turn individual commands off, restrict them to certain channels, and add cooldowns. See Slash commands.
