FiveUnityManual

Dashboard tour

A quick tour of fiveunity.com/dashboard: picking a server, the sidebar, the feature search, and how saving works. Once you know these four things every settings page behaves the same way.

Note

Where: Dashboard โ†’ your server

#Picking a server

The Dashboard page lists every server that you and FiveUnity are both in, and where you have Administrator or Manage Server. Each card shows the server icon, name and member count; click one to open it. Add FiveUnity to a server sits at the top, and the empty state offers Refresh list. See Invite the bot and sign in if nothing shows up.

#The server overview

Opening a server lands you on Server overview: every section as a card, grouped exactly like the sidebar. Each card shows a two-letter monogram, the section name, a one-line description and a Configure link.

Two cards report live state instead: Tickets shows how many panels you have and whether DM transcripts are on, and Applications shows Enabled or Disabled with an off flag when it is switched off.

#The sidebar

The sidebar stays on the left of every page in a server. From top to bottom it holds the feature search, an Overview link, then the section groups.

Groups are collapsible, and the number beside a group name is how many sections it holds. The group containing the page you are on opens itself; the rest remember how you left them. At the bottom sit Expand all / Collapse all and All servers.

A section that needs the Pro plan carries a small Pro tag. You can still open and configure it on Premium; it simply will not run until the plan is Pro. See Plans and billing.

On a narrow screen the sidebar becomes a drawer. Open it with the menu button in the top bar. It closes itself when you navigate.

The search box at the top of the sidebar is the fastest way to reach a setting when you cannot remember which page it is on.

  • Open it by clicking it, with Ctrl K (โŒ˜ K on a Mac), or by pressing / outside a text field. On a narrow screen the shortcut opens the drawer first.
  • It searches section names, every settings panel title, the words admins actually type for a setting, and the Discord command that does the same job, so /sticky finds the sticky messages panel and quarantine role finds it inside Protection. Close typos still match.
  • Narrow it with the group chips above the results (All, Support desk, Server setup, โ€ฆ), or by typing in:safety raid.
  • Move with โ†‘ and โ†“, open with Enter, close with Esc. Esc clears the box first if you have typed something.
  • Results are grouped by section and show the panel name, its description, and the command or keyword that matched. A result on the page you are already looking at is tagged this page.
  • Opening a result takes you to the panel, not just the page: it scrolls there and flashes the border for a couple of seconds, and the address bar keeps the anchor so you can share the link.

With the box empty it lists Recently opened destinations for this server, plus a few examples to try.

#Saving changes

Settings pages do not save as you type. Edit as many fields as you like and a bar appears at the bottom of the page showing 1 unsaved change or N unsaved changes, with two buttons:

  • Save changes: writes everything at once, and reads Savingโ€ฆ while it works.
  • Discard: throws your edits away and puts the fields back.

Leaving the page without saving loses the edits, so watch for the bar.

The rule across the whole dashboard is the same:

  • Switches, dropdowns and pickers may save on the click, because there is no half-finished value to send.
  • Text and number boxes never save as you type. They wait for the save bar, or for the panel's own Save button on pages built from a list of rows (permission groups, keywords, self-role panels, join-to-create hubs, departments).
  • Deleting anything asks first, and the confirmation says what is lost and what is kept.
Tip

Some panels have their own action buttons instead. Publishing a panel, creating log channels or rotating keys happens the moment you press them, with no save bar.

#Toasts

Every action confirms itself with a small message in the corner. They disappear after a few seconds, or dismiss one with the ร—. When a save fails the toast carries the actual reason, often a missing Discord permission, or a lapsed subscription pointing you at Billing.

Breadcrumbs above each page show where you are: Home โ†’ Dashboard โ†’ your server โ†’ the section. Every step except the last is a link.

The bar across the top has Back to all servers, the FiveUnity brand link, FAQ, Privacy, the search shortcut, your Discord avatar and name, and Sign out. The footer carries the rest: Documentation, Terms, Refunds, Privacy and Support, with the response-time commitment.

#Names, not ids

Anywhere a page holds a Discord user (staff insights, moderation cases, gang rosters, the holders of a temporary role) it shows the member's name rather than a raw id. Names are fetched in batches and cached for a few minutes, so a member who left the server, or one FiveUnity cannot see, still shows as an id. Role maps on the Linked servers page read the same way: @source โ†’ @target ยท from <Server>.

#Who sees what

Anyone with Administrator or Manage Server on the Discord server sees the same dashboard; there is no separate FiveUnity role for the website. Discord is checked live on every request, so a promotion or demotion takes effect on the next click. Two actions need full Administrator rather than Manage Server: wiping a server before restoring a backup, and resetting a server.

The one door that opens wider is the documentation editor: Discord roles you name as editors can write pages at your site's /edit address without any dashboard access. See Documentation.

Warning

Changes apply to the live Discord server straight away. There is no staging or preview: if you are experimenting, use a test server.
